​BIOLUMINUS is a combustion machine of musical ideas and interaction.

This fiery Amsterdam-based trio is comprised of Argentinian saxophonist

Ada Rave (Kaja Draksler Octet, Hupata!!!), Canadian double bassist Aaron Lumley (Stadhouders & Lumley, Leo Svirsky’s River Without Banks) and Dutch drummer Onno Govaert (Omawi, Cactus Truck).  Rave’s tenor playing has always boasted a voluminous tone and great control over extended techniques, but in Bioluminus her vigorous and gritty melodic playing is highlighted within the churning rhythmical maelstrom of Govaert and Lumley.  Bioluminus’ unique brand of deep listening energy music can be heard on their new self-titled debut album, released on Amsterdam’s Doek Raw label.
